Bangladesh did win the ODI series against India by 2-1 but the longer format will be a huge challenge for the hosts. They have lost four of their last five Tests and have drawn one. Bangladesh are less likely to win this game with odds at 5.61.
How’s the Pitch?
Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram is expected to be a bit flatter than usual for this Test. Spinners usually have a good time at this venue as the pitch starts to wear out. The weather is likely to be clear enough for the match to get fully completed.
Our Pick: India are missing a few of their key players but have enough depth and quality in both departments for these conditions. Back India to win this one at 1.45!
India will be without their skipper Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and seam bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. But it shouldn’t be a huge concern. As for their most recent game, they were defeated by England away from home in July, however had absolutely thrashed Sri Lanka at home in March.
Keep an eye on…
Shreyas Iyer is perhaps the best batter of spin bowling in the Indian side barring Rishabh Pant. He has done a good job in the longer format, scoring 422 runs in five Tests at 47 average with three fifties and a hundred.
Shakib Al Hasan showed tremendous form in the One-Day series and you can expect him to continue that here. The all-rounder has scored 4251 runs at 39 average while picking 225 wickets with his left arm orthodox spin at 31.32 average.
