Ancient India gave rise to this contact team sport called Kabaddi, which originated in Tamil Nadu. The player teams consist of seven members. Both teams change sides during the five-minute half break between the two 20 minute halves. An attacking team player, called the raider, runs into the opponent’s side of the court during each play to try to tag as many defending players as possible. After cricket, it has been the second most-watched sport in India and usually takes place in a PKL stadium. In this article, we help fans with 10 of the league’s biggest Kabaddi Stadiums!

#10 Patliputra Sports Complex, Patna, Seating Capacity – 3,500 – Patna Pirates

The Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna is home to the Patna Pirates team. They hosted seven league matches for the pro-Kabaddi League, and many of the best Patna Pirates matches happen on their home turf. They are coached by Ram Mehar Singh, while Prashant Kumar Rai leads the team. With three titles from seven seasons and winning consecutively, the Pirates are the most successful team in PKL’s history.

Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports. It has four wings.

#9 The Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad, Seating Capacity – 4,000 – Gujarat Giants 

TransStadia’s Arena in Ahmedabad is a modern multi-sport stadium featuring state-of-the-art facilities. Public-private partnerships have been awarded to the company to build sports infrastructure under the PPP model.  

Transtadia Agmedabad’s home team is the Gujarat Giants. They are currently owned by Adani Wilmar Ltd. with Manpreet Singh coaching and Sunil Kumar, the fans of this team have very little to worry about when it comes to their potential to win the next League. The defence has always been the cornerstone of the Gujarat Giants. With a whopping 561,873 (subject to change) fans on social media alone, it’s no question why they are the home team to the second-best stadium on our top ten list.

#8 Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium – Seating Capacity – 4,000 – Bengaluru Bulls

It is mainly known as the Sree or Sri Kanteerava Indoor Stadium; the Kanteerava Indoor Stadium is an indoor sports arena located in Bangalore, India. Its most noticeable event was in 2015 and 2016, as it hosted the SABA Championship. 

In Season 6, the Stadiums Bengaluru Bulls team won the championship, and they are owned by Kosmik Global Media. They were led with pride by Pawan Sehrawat and firmly coached by Randhir Singh. The Bengaluru Bulls schedule will always be closely watched by their sizable 1,530,915 (subject to change) social media fan base as they show much potential in the next upcoming League.

#7 Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad, Seating Capacity – 4,000 – Telugu Titans

To host the 2003 Afro-Asian Games, the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium Hyderabad was constructed in 2002 by the Chandrababu Naidu Government. Sports fans can locate  Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in the Gachibowli suburb.

The Telugu Titans are owned by Greenko Group, NED Group, and Veera Sports, whose owner is Srinivas Sreeramaneni of the Vaya Group. The head coach for Season eight is Jagadeesh Kumble, and they will be led by Rohit Kumar. The fans of the team look forward to the next Telugu Titans matches as the team takes their strides to win the next upcoming championship games.

#6 Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, Seating Capacity – 4,400 – Puneri Paltan

The Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex stadium was constructed in 1994 for the National Games 1994.

Khelo India Youth Games was launched at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.

In the Pro Kabaddi League, Pune Paltan represents the city of Pune, Maharashtra, India. At the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, the team is coached by Anup Kumar. While the Puneri Paltan matches haven’t had many wins in the last few matches, fans are hoping for redemption in the next season at Kabaddi Stadium.

#5 Thyagaraj Sports Complex, New Delhi, Seating Capacity – 4,494 – Dabang Delhi 

Delhi 2010’s Netball competition was held at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex. Owned by Delhi’s National Capital Territory, and the building was designed by Australian architects PTM and Delhi’s Kapoor & Associates. In 2010, the Commonwealth Games were held at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in Mumbai, which honours South Indian composer Tyagaraja.

Dabang Delhi plays in the Pro Kabaddi League. Coached by Krishan Hooda and led by Joginder Narwal. Debang Delhi’s matches are played at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex, which is owned by Radha Kapoor. The debang delhi mascot is a masked man with wings, and teams with mascots are continuously pumped to win.

#4 Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium, Lucknow, Seating Capacity – 5,000 – U.P Yoddha

Lucknow’s Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium hosts indoor sports. The Babu Banarasi Das courts are commonly used for indoor sports such as Kabbadi, Badminton and Table Tennis.

In the fifth season of the Pro Kabaddi league, U.P. Yoddha was introduced into the League and has been part of it ever since. They are owned by the GMR Group and are based in Lucknow. At the Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium in Lucknow, the Yoddhas play their home matches. Since its inception in 2017, the U.P. Yoddha matches have reached the playoffs every year.

#3 Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, Mumbai, Seating Capacity – 8,000 – U Mumba

Mumbai, Maharashtra, has an indoor sports arena called the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium. It was built in 1957 as an outdoor stadium. The old open-air stadium was replaced with an indoor stadium in 2002, designed by the famous architecture firm Shashi Prabhu & Associates, with Sterling Engineers as their structural engineers.

In the Pro Kabaddi League, U Mumba plays as a Kabaddi team based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, under the leadership of Fazel Atrachali, with Anil Chaprana. Most of the U Mumba matches take place at this stadium.

#2 Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai, Seating Capacity – 8,000 – Tamil Thalaivas

The original construction of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium was for the 1982 Asian Games. For the 2010 Commonwealth Games, the stadium was extensively renovated and modernised to host the field events and opening and closing ceremonies. Home to the Tamil Thalaivas team. Tamil Thalaivas matches often take place at this amazing Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium chennai.

#1 Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata, Seating Capacity- 12,000 – Bengal Warriors

The Netaji Indoor Stadium hosts a wide variety of events. In addition, it accommodates international and national trade fairs. It’s also a place where votes are counted during elections. The Netaji Indoor Stadium capacity can hold a maximum of 12,000. The Bengal Warrior matches often take place in this stadium.
