Defending champions Australia start as favourites
The best women’s cricketers in the world will be in action when they battle for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. The marquee women’s tournament is set to take place in South Africa, starting from February 10 with the final on February 26th.
10 teams will be split into two groups with top two teams from each group advancing through to the semifinals. Group A comprises the defending champions Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Group B will feature India, England, West Indies, Pakistan and Ireland.
A total of 20 group matches across two groups will be hosted in Cape Town, Paarl and Gqeberha. Newlands, Cape Town will host both semifinals as well as the final.

World Champions Australia heavy favourites with their immense depth
Australia are the reigning champions in both the formats and have won five out of seven T20 World Cup titles. They have a considerably stronger side, with a power-packed batting line-up and a world class bowling attack. The Meg Lanning-led side are heavy favourites to win the trophy at 1.50.
India would hope to convert potential into trophy
The Indian women have pushed Australia to limits in recent times. They have some absolute superstars in the side and would hope to go one step further, having come second in the previous T20 World Cup and Commonwealth Games. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team chances of winning the tournament stand at 4.50.
England have the resources to clinch second World T20 title
England women have a pretty good side, with quality in both bowling and batting departments. Despite having resources, they have often faltered in the final stages. England have odds of 5.50 to win their second T20 title.
Key Players
Ashleigh Gardner will be one of the key players for Australia in their title defence. She has scored 590 runs from 33 T20s since the start of 2022, averaging 38 at an outstanding strike rate of 150. The off-spinning all-rounder has also picked 39 wickets at an economy of just over 6.
Deepti Sharma is an important asset for India with her all-round skill set. She has claimed 96 wickets in T20 internationals at an economy of 6.08, including nine scalps in four innings in the recent tri-series. Deepti has also scored 447 runs in the last one year at an average of 33 and strike rate of 131.
Nat Sciver has a fantastic record in T20 cricket with both bat and ball. The English all-rounder has over 4700 runs in the format at an average of 29 and strike rate of 119 with 24 fifties. She also has 176 wickets at an economy of under 7 with four four-wicket hauls.

South Africa v Sri Lanka
The Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 will kick off with Sri Lanka women taking on the hosts South Africa women in the first match at Cape Town on February 10th. South Africa, who are coming off a tri-series victory over India and West Indies, will head into the match as favourites. South Africa have odds of 1.89 to win this match.
England v West Indies
The second game of the tournament will witness England and West Indies women lock horns at Boland Park in Paarl on February 11. England have won their previous five T20Is while West Indies women have lost all of their last five games. Expect England to win this fixture, with odds of 1.54 favouring them!
Australia v New Zealand
The reigning champions Australia women will begin their title defence with a clash against New Zealand at Paarl in the evening fixture on February 11th. Australia have recently defeated India by 4-1 and Pakistan by 2-0, and are the favourites to win the match. Australia are favourites at 1.43 to win this match.
