Mumbai might look to give their seamers a rest
A massive turn of events over the weekend now means that Hyderabad are in with a realistic chance of qualifying to the play-offs should they beat Mumbai in the final game of the league stage. While that might sound an arduous task especially as Mumbai have been outrageous right through the season, the table toppers might be looking to rest some of the big guns and that might give Hyderabad a chance to win.
Hyderabad come off the back of a stunning win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last game, a match that gave their qualification hopes a significant boost. With the kind of net run rate they have, Hyderabad will need to just ensure they win to qualify. Their odds of that, though, is an unlikely 2.20
Mumbai have been bullish right through the season and even after losing their skipper to an injury midway through, have comfortably finished on top of the league table. Their bowling attack might due some rotation ahead of the play-offs but Mumbai still have odds of 1.64 to finish the league on a high.

Overall head to head record in balance
The overall records are in the balance with SRH winning seven and MI winning eight of the 15 matches between these teams. A stat that shows the kind of quality these teams have, MI and SRH have been one of the better performing teams in the league’s recent past. Since 2019, though, Mumbai have won all three of their matches against Hyderabad including earlier in this season.
RECOMMENDED BET: Despite possibly playing a weakened side, Mumbai still have great depth and are likely to win with odds of 1.64
Earlier in the season when these teams met, Mumbai made a resounding 200-plus total and raced home to a comfortable 34-run win. Hyderabad will have to play out of their skins to beat Mumbai.
TIP: Mumbai’s new opening pair of Quinton de Kock and Ishan Kishan have impressed and have odds of 1.83 to put up a better stand than Sunrisers
Keep an eye on…
SRH batting: Sunrisers Hyderabad have relied on their top-order right through the season and the middle-order has been a bit of a question mark. If they are to thwart the Mumbai plans and win this game, one of those top four batsmen will have to bat deep or they will need some individual brilliance by someone in the lower middle-order.
Jasprit Bumrah: The purple cap holder has had a tremendous season and is in line to run through Sunrisers Hyderabad unless Mumbai feel he needs a break. The fast bowler’s participation in the game could well decide Hyderbad’s chances for this match.
