India push for historic win
Despite the loss in Johannesburg, India has odds of 2.00 to win in Cape Town, a venue where they are yet to win a Test match. The terrific bowling attack that India has, gives them an edge for sure, especially considering how South Africa’s batting has recently been vulnerable at home.
South Africa are on a high after the win in Johannesburg, but it really took an otherworldly effort from Dean Elgar for the hosts to salvage the Test and sneak in a win. They’ll need more from the rest to beat India in Cape Town, the odds of which stand at 2.64
The Cape Town record
In five Tests in Cape Town, India have lost three and drawn two. The latest of the three lost games came in 2018 where South Africa staved off a strong Indian bowling unit thanks to a scintillating performance from their bowlers.
RECOMMENDED BET: Back India to seal a historic win at 2.00 in Cape Town!
India are yet to win a Test series in South Africa and this could well make the end of their spectacular overseas journey.
Virat Kohli, who sat out the last Test, confirmed his availability for this series-decider on the eve of the match. He also hinted that Mohammed Siraj, who sustained a hamstring injury last game, would miss out.
Keep an eye on…
Kagiso Rabada: Rabada breathed fire in the last Test, something that Dean Elgar put down to a strong dressing room talk. A fired up Rabada is bad news for India as they saw in the second essay in Johannesburg.
Ajinkya Rahane or Hanuma Vihari: With Kohli returning, it remains to be seen if India go with an extra batter or go with one of Ajinkya Rahane or Hanuma Vihari. Rahane’s form improved in Johannesburg and being the senior player, he’ll likely retain his place.
TIP: On a batting wicket, Virat Kohli will be hoping to make a mark and a half-century: the odds stand at 2.27, and this appears to be a distinct possibility.
