India have selection issues to sort
South Africa started off as underdogs in this ODI series, but after two matches the impression has completely turned around with compelling performances for the hosts in both batting and bowling departments. The onus is on them to complete a whitewash with India looking down and out: with the odds standing at 1.99.
India struggled with the new ball and then in the middle overs with bat and ball and are now faced with a situation where they seem unsure of their best XI. We could definitely see changes in the squad with the series lost already. India have odds of 1.61 to win and walk away with their reputation slightly restored.
India’s bowling record
India have taken just 11 powerplay wickets in the 23 ODIs they have played since the 2019 ODI World Cup. Aside from Jasprit Bumrah, whom teams are looking to play out, India seem to lack a bowler who can trouble batters consistently.
RECOMMENDED BET: South Africa have found a way to tackle India’s bowlers well. Back SA at 1.99 to win the final ODI!
South Africa, on the other hand, have found five batters in form in the two matches and are in a good position to capitalise on India’s bowlers.
Keep an eye on…
India batting: India struggled to score off South Africa’s spinners in the two matches and lost key wickets to them to make this a tough series for them. If they can wade through spin without losing too many wickets to them, it’ll be interesting to see them tackle the death overs.
Quinton de Kock: His electrifying start was the difference between the teams in the second ODI. Expect Quinton de Kock to come out all guns blazing again. The left-hander will be backed to go after the India quicks again.
TIP: Rassie van der Dussen has been in terrific form. Support him at 7.77 to be South Africa’s top batter!
