Kings XI bowlers against Rajasthan’s batting
There’s little to choose between these two teams in this IPL season. The usual wooden spoon candidates started off their respective seasons with a bang and have lined up strong teams this time around. Rajasthan Royals thumped Chennai Super Kings in their first clash while Kings XI Punjab tied (and lost in Super Over) the first game before winning the second against a clueless Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Both teams are strong in the batting department with Rajasthan set to be replenished by the return of Jos Buttler at the top of the batting order. Buttler’s return could be complemented by Kings XI even bringing back Chris Gayle at the top. If that happens, the game could be a straight shoot-out between two of the biggest hitters in the game. The two teams are so similar in nature that calling a winner is extremely tough. The odds for both teams for this game stand at 1.86.
Rajasthan just edge Kings XI in the head-to-head records
Rajasthan Royals have 10 wins against Kings XI Punjab in 19 fixtures between the two teams. Punjab, on the other hand, have 9 wins. Since 2018, though, Kings XI Punjab have won three and lost just once against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League
RECOMMENDED BET: RR are as good as KXIP this time and the two teams have equal odds for a win at 1.86.
Recent form could give Kings XI the edge but Rajasthan are so strong this time around and with Buttler returning could be one of the teams to watch out for this league.
Keep an eye on…
Kings XI bowling: Kings XI Punjab have an underrated bowling attack and under the mentorship of Anil Kumble, the attack has a sharp edge to it. They bowled RCB out for 109 in the last game and look sharp with their spinners led by Ravi Bishnoi.
Rajasthan’s top-order: With Jos Buttler set to return and Sanju Samson in fine touch, Rajasthan Royals have a stunning top-order. Add in Steven Smith and Yashasvi Jaiswal and we have a power-packed line-up. It will be a tough ask for the Kings XI Punjab bowlers.
