Both RCB and DC will hope for an early advantage
It’s the top of the table clash as Royal Challengers Bangalore head into Delhi Capitals in the 19th match of the Indian Premier League’s 2020 edition. With three wins in four games each, both teams are off to a flier this season but will have a tough Dubai wicket to contend with.
Delhi Capitals have a terrific bowling line-up with some exceptional quality in the powerplay and middle overs and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be wary of this massive threat as they head into this fixture. Delhi’s batting also came together against Kolkata Knight Riders and they have better odds of 1.80 to sneak in a win against RCB.
RCB have been pretty solid with the bat and found success with their spinners with the ball. With Virat Kohli also hitting his straps last game, RCB have gone from strength to strength with their batting. The worrisome bowling attack, though, gives them less favourable odds of 2.00 to win this game, but it’s not out of their reach to win this fixture and spring a surprise.

Overall record highly in favour of Royal Challengers Bangalore
Overall records matter little in the present, but if RCB need any confidence heading into this game, they can take comfort in the knowledge that they have a terrific head-to-head record against Delhi Capitals. In 24 matches so far between these sides, RCB have won 15 and lost just 8 matches with one game ending in no result.
RECOMMENDED BET: DC have the better bowling attack this season and have odds of 1.80 to sneak in a win.
This season, both teams are at the top of the points table with six points each after four games. Both have won thrice and lost just once. Recent record also favours Delhi as they have a 2-0 record against RCB since 2019.
Keep an eye on…
Rabada and Nortje: The lynchpins in the bowling attack, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada have stifled batting teams with their hit-the-deck bowling. Delhi will bank on these two yet again to make an impression. Rabada against Kohli and de Villiers will be the contest to watch out for.
Devdutt Padikkal: No batsman has ever started his IPL career with three scores of 50 or more in four matches except Devdutt Padikkal. The exceptional RCB opening batter has given the Virat Kohli-led side some much needed top-order firepower and relaxed the pressure on de Villiers and Kohli. Padikkal will be a crucial figure in RCB’s plans this season.
TIP: Royal Challengers Bangalore have had good opening partnerships this season and have odds of 1.90 to make a better opening stand than Delhi
