Stars hope for the best, while Hurricanes hang on
The 10th edition of the Big Bash League is nearing its finishing stages and the final five to qualify are almost ready, although the three final day games on Australia day could potentially throw a spanner in the woods. Melbourne Stars have a big game against the Sydney Sixers and have to win it with the bonus point to hope to even challenge for the play-off spot. They have odds of 1.90 to win this game, a repeat of last year’s BBL finals. They would still want the Hobart Hurricanes to lose against Melbourne Renegades, the odds of which stand at an unlikely 2.20.
In the other big match of the day, Perth Scorchers take on Brisbane Heat to try and seal their spot at the top of the points table. They have odds of 1.57 to win this clash against Brisbane Heat who are technically also in with a chance to qualify if they win with bonus points and Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars lose their respective games.

Scorchers, Sixers hold the edge in terms of overall and recent record
Overall record has Perth Scorchers winning eight to six matches against the Brisbane Heat, including each of the last three matches. Renegades and the Hurricanes meanwhile share an equal overall record, although the Hurricanes have won each of their two matches against the Renegades in the last two fixtures.
RECOMMENDED BETS: The Scorchers have had the better season and have odds of 1.57 to beat the Brisbane Heat
The Sixers are at number two in the points table and are consistent enough to boast of odds of 1.76 to beat the Melbourne Stars
The Sixers have an edge in terms of overall records against the Stars and also have recent numbers going their way with four wins and one loss in just the year 2020. The Stars against Sixers game would be one that attracts massive attention on Tuesday just because the Stars have a star-studded line-up and were expected to make it to the qualifiers.
DON’T MISS OUT… The Hurricanes have been good enough compared to the Melbourne Renegades who haven’t done well and their odds of a win stand at 1.54
Keep an eye on…
Stars batting: The Melbourne Stars have a few remarkable players in their ranks but they haven’t quite managed to click in sync resulting in a poor season. The onus is on them to try and get their act together one final time to try and bid for a place in the final five.
D’Arcy Short and Wade: Hobart Hurricanes’ batting finally clicked with Matthew Wade joining D’Arcy Short at the top and acting in sync to topple the Sydney Sixers by seven runs. The big runs at the top have finally come for the Hurricanes and they would aim for another good show against the lowly Renegades to ensure qualification.
TIP: Matthew Wade is a dangerous player at the top as he showed last game and he has odds of 7.50 to win the Player of the Match award.
