Renegades hope to shrug off poor record against Scorchers
The Perth Scorchers have some amazing bowling quality in the season this time. The Scorchers have maintained a core bowling group and have added onto it for the season while ensuring there’s enough batting to keep them in the hunt. Strong tournament contenders this time, they have the wood over Renegades in the Big Bash League and boast of odds of 1.66 to win their first game of the season.
The Renegades have added superb batting depth with the additions of Rilee Rossouw and Shaun Marsh and will be buoyed by the availability of Aaron Finch, the Australian limited-overs skipper, for the entire duration of the season. They are strong contenders for the title as well, but against a strong Perth side they have struggled with in the past, the odds rest at 2.00.

Overall head to head record favours Perth Scorchers
The Scorchers and Renegades have had vastly different records in the history of the BBL. While the Renegades have gained prominence in recent seasons, the Scorchers have a rich history and some amazing batting quality over the years. In head-to-head records, the Scorchers have a strong advantage having won eight of the ten clashes between these sides.
RECOMMENDED BET: The Perth Scorchers have a strong squad and good bowling resources and have odds of 1.66 to beat the Renegades.
The last two seasons have been interesting, though. Until 2018, the Renegades had never beaten Scorchers but they won both games that time around. Last season, however, Scorchers pulled things back with two back-to-back wins.
Keep an eye on…
The Renegades batting: Big, strong batsmen make Renegades a force this time around. Aaron Finch, Rilee Rossouw and Shaun Marsh form the core of their batting and all three are excellent in different aspects of the game making them a competent, excellent batting line-up with a decent group of support players.
TIP: Aaron Finch is in outstanding form and has odds of 6.50 to win the Player of the Match award for this game.
The Scorchers bowling: The Scorchers, on the other hand, rely on their bowling quality. They have Jhye Richardson, Jason Behrendorff, Matt Kelly, Ashton Agar, Andrew Tye and Fawad Ahmed in their ranks, making them on the strongest bowling teams in the season this time around.
