Strong MI could prove to be too good for the Hyderabad franchise
Sunrisers Hyderabad have been impressive in parts this IPL season and will be banking on their bowling attack to oust Mumbai Indians. Hyderabad haven’t really punched above their weight in the batting department, though, and will have a tough ask against a quality Mumbai Indians bowling attack. Their odds stand at 2.05 to beat Mumbai.
Mumbai Indians have a great line-up and the defending champions have put their campaign back on track after a heart-wrenching loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Super Over. Their strong bowling attack, in particular, gives them better odds of 1.74 in beating Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Overall and recent record are in the balance for Mumbai and Hyderabad
Over the years, Sunrisers Hyderabad have built up a reputation for being a team that can fight the top guns in the league. In their head-to-head record against Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad have won 7 and lost 7. Surprisingly, Hyderabad are a franchise Mumbai haven’t quite trumped yet in the league despite their dominant record against most teams.
RECOMMENDEDD BET: MI have a terrific all-round outfit and against a suspect SRH batting line-up have better odds of 1.74 to notch up a win.
In the last two years, both SRH and MI have two wins apiece in head to head encounters. Sunrisers Hyderabad won both the games in 2018 while Mumbai won back-to-back matches in 2019.
Keep an eye on…
Jasprit Bumrah: After conceding at over 10 runs per over in two matches in the season, Jasprit Bumrah was on fire against Kings XI Punjab and picked up two wickets in an economical spell of bowling. Bumrah will be key for Mumbai against a top-heavy Sunrisers line-up.
Kane Williamson: After a brilliant first innings in this edition of the IPL against Delhi Capitals, Williamson was run-out against Chennai Super Kings and will be backing himself to make amends in this game against Mumbai. The New Zealand skipper is a fine player of pace and spin and can be a handful at Sharjah with the short boundaries.
