Kolkata hope to consolidate position in Top 4
Mumbai Indians have been sensational this IPL season. They have lost two matches, one of them after dragging it to the Super Over, and have won five of their remaining six games. The Rohit Sharma-led outfit have easily been the team of the tournament. The defending champions have odds of 1.60 to win another game as they meet Kolkata Knight Riders in the eighth game of the IPL.
KKR, on the other hand, are meandering along with no direction. They have made some questionable decisions this season and are paying the price for the same. Sunil Narine will likely miss out again due to the suspect action issue and we could see another outing for Tom Banton. Overall, KKR appear short on the bowling front and have odds of 2.25 to win this game.

Overall record overwhelmingly in favour of Mumbai
Mumbai Indians have a formidable head-to-head record against Kolkata Knight Riders. They haven’t just won matches, but have been ruthless in doing so. In the history of the IPL, Mumbai have beaten KKR 20 times while losing just six times. This includes as many as nine wins in the last 10 times these teams have met.
TIP: Rohit Sharma has a terrific record against Kolkata Knight Riders and has odds of 7.50 to win the Man of the Match award.
Keep an eye on…
Mumbai’s pacers: Kolkata do not have the greatest batting line-up to counter fast bowlers and Mumbai have one of the best pace bowling attacks in the tournament. From Jasprit Bumrah to Trent Boult and James Pattinson, MI are attacking constantly with pace and against KKR, pace could once again prove to be the difference.
Tom Banton: Mumbai rely overwhelmingly on pace maybe and the best equipped to handle it in the KKR ranks is Tom Banton. Having proven his credentials in foreign leagues, Banton arrives with a reputation and although he flopped last game, could be an x-factor player against Mumbai.
RECOMMENDED BET: MI have a much stronger bowling unit and recent form and overall record favoirimg them. They have odds of 1.60 to win.
KKR have won four and lost three this season and are fourth in the points table with 8 points. MI, on the other hand, 10 points and are second below Delhi although they have played one game less.
