MI, DC battle it out for the top spot
Mumbai Indians (MI) face a booming Delhi Capitals (DC) side in match number 27 of the 2020 season of the Indian Premier League. Mumbai have won four out of their six games while Delhi have lost just one and won five so far.
The Rohit Sharma-led have been excellent this season. Mumbai Indians lost two out of their first three games and now, they’ve won three games in a row. There barely seems to be any weakness in that line-up. The four-time champions possess a solid top-order with a powerful middle-order and the entire batting line-up has come together really well. The pace trio is one of the best this season and they’ve fired as well. MI might just start as slight favourites in this game with the odds of 1.76 to pull off a win.
Like Mumbai, the Delhi Capitals have won three games in a row. They started well too, winning two at the top and now, they have three wins in a row to make it five out of six which puts them at the top of the points table. The form of Shikhar Dhawan at the top might be a little concerning but apart from that, they look a well-rounded squad as well. Delhi are seriously looking strong. They might be slightly behind on the winning odds which stands at 2.00 but don’t count them out.
Overall record is all squared up
As far as the overall head to head record is concerned, it’s even stevens at the moment. In 24 matches that the two teams have played against each other, both MI and DC have won 12 games each. In the last five meetings, Delhi have the slight edge with three wins.
RECOMMENDED BET: MI boast of a powerful line-up and might be favourites to pull off a win with the odds of 1.76.
This season, DC are sitting pretty at the top of the table. They have 10 points and have lost just one loss. Meanwhile, MI have won four and with eight points, they are second on the points table.
Keep an eye on…
Kieron Pollard: Pollard has been very good in the middle-order for MI this season. He has amassed 163 runs at a strike-rate of 208.97 and has hit 13 sixes. Moreover, he has been dismissed just once. Thus, the West Indian white-ball skipper may be the one to watch out for.
Kagiso Rabada: The ace South African fast bowler has been on fire over the last couple of seasons and has been one of the key reasons why Delhi have been successful. Rabada has picked up 15 wickets at an average of 12.33 and has a strike-rate of 9.4 with the ball.
TIP: Mumbai Indians have big hitters and have the knack of hitting more sixes. Hence, they have the better odds of 1.83 of ending up with the greatest number of sixes in this game.
