RCB batsmen against Punjab bowlers
Royal Challengers Bangalore come off the back of a confidence-boosting win in their first game of the fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Contrary to previous seasons, RCB seem better equipped and well rounded in terms of their team composition. With AB de Villiers also striking good form, RCB are better placed to beat Kings XI Punjab with odds of 1.71.
Kings XI Punjab, on the other hand, had a humdinger against Delhi Capitals in their opening game of the season. The game ended in a tie and Kings XI Punjab went on to give a meek display in the Super Over. Not only were Kings XI tactically short, they seemed to be confused in how to deploy their resources. Against a refurbished RCB, their odds of pulling off a win are 2.05.
Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore have an equal win loss ratio
These aren’t the two best franchises in the league and have often struggled to string together quality performances. Neither team has an IPL title up their sleeve and in their lackadaisical performances, KXIP and RCB have been pretty similar in a lot of ways. Overall, the teams have played each other 24 times, each team winning 12 games each.
RECOMMENDED BET: RCB have won each of their last four games against Kings XI Punjab and have odds of 1.71 to beat them again.
In the last two seasons, RCB, despite their own woes, have beaten Kings XI Punjab four times out of four. The last time Punjab beat RCB in the IPL was way back in 2017. In the last two years, nothing really has gone their way in fixtures against RCB.
Keep an eye on…
RCB’s top-order: With Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal assisting Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers at the top, RCB are a completely different beast in the format. They have a sensational top four in the batting line-up and one gets the inkling that Kings XI Punjab do not really have the kind of bowling attack to trouble RCB’s gigantic batting line-up.
The Ravi Bishnoi threat: Forget experienced bowlers, 20-year old Ravi Bishnoi was mighty impressive against Delhi Capitals with his googlies and sliders and will once again be a key bowler for Kings XI in this fixture. Expect him to try and outfox a couple of middle-order batsmen.
