Delhi will aim to make a perfect XI again
Delhi Capitals went into their last game with Marcus Stoinis out injured and replaced by an Indian player. With just three overseas picks, Delhi still managed to find the perfect balance and pull off another comfortable win. The team of the season so far, DC will bank on their pace attack again to beat KKR. Their odds of doing so stand at 1.68.
Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, come off the back of a close loss to Chennai Super Kings over the weekend. That they pushed CSK to the brink shows that KKR have started to find their feet this leg. Their batting will, however, need to counter a very strong bowling attack, diminishing their odds to 2.14 in beating Delhi.
Delhi hold edge in recent head-to-head
Overall, KKR have managed to win 14 matches against Delhi compared to Delhi’s 13. But in recent times, the record is in favour of Delhi. In the last three seasons, Delhi have won four of the five matches against KKR. The pace attack and KKR’s weakness against it has been a major reason for the slump in form.
RECOMMENDED BET DC have the better team on paper and should beat KKR with odds favouring them at 1.68.
When these teams met earlier in the season, Delhi Capitals eased to a seven-wicket win after a stirring opening stand from Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw.
Keep an eye on…
Delhi quicks: DC wil bank on Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje to bang the ball into the wicket and test KKR with pace and bounce. The duo have been excellent in the middle overs in containing the scoring rate and then capitalise in the death overs to get the wickets.
Andre Russell: As is ever, KKR’s chances hinge on Russell. The all-rounder will need to step up with bat and ball remarkably if KKR are to test Delhi. Russell made a 45 off just 27 balls the last time these teams met.
TIP Shreyas Iyer has been in good form in the second leg of IPL 2021, he has odds of 3.90 to be Delhi’s Top Batter.
