Kolkata need uplift to bring season on track
Chennai Super Kings have the highest NRR and are second in the points table as of Tuesday morning as they head into the Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai. The Wankhede surface has thrown a few curveballs and CSK have managed to come out on top which will make them favourites to win this clash at odds of 1.86
Kolkata Knight Riders, meanwhile, have got their planning and strategies proper, but the execution has been a tad off. They have a great side with good depth but against CSK, their biggest challenge will be to put that batting line-up under pressure. They have equal odds of 1.86 to win this game.
Recent records favour CSK
Overall and recent numbers favour CSK as these teams get ready to meet another time. CSK have had 15 wins in 24 matches against KKR as against nine wins by the Kolkata side. In the last two seasons, CSK have won three and lost just one of the four clashes between them.
RECOMMENDED BET: CSK have won back to back games and have odds of 1.86 to beat KKR.
The 2021 season has seen CSK start off really well with two big wins while KKR, despite looking good, have surrendered in two of the three matches.
Keep an eye on…
Moeen Ali: Pushed to No.3 in the batting line-up and tasked with taking down big guns in the middle overs with the ball, Moeen has delivered big time and has already become a CSK favourite. It’s very unlikely that CSK will move away from their set template for this game.
Shubman Gill: KKR will need him to bat slightly deeper into the innings and set the game up for the likes of Andre Russell and Eoin Morgan. Gill showed he can do that quickly too last season, but hasn’t fired yet so far this year.
TIP: Andre Russell has a good record against Chennai with the bat and is also the death bowler now, giving him odds of 9.00 to win the Player of the Match award.
