CSK look to build on recent win while KKR look to get back to winning ways
Two teams stuck in a middle of the table square off in match number 21 of this Indian Premier League’s 2020 edition. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bounced back strongly after suffering three losses in a row. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have had a loss on either side of their two back to back wins. Both teams have four points each at the moment.
Kolkata Knight Riders had things going their way nicely before their loss to Delhi Capitals where they failed to chase down 229 and fell 18 runs short. The batting is shaping up well but there are a couple of concerns. Sunil Narine just doesn’t look like he can buy a run at the moment while Dinesh Karthik’s form has been poor as well. The last performance with the ball can be shrugged off given they played in a graveyard for bowlers and conceded 228. The young battery of fast bowlers along with Varun Chakravarthy have been impressive. It may well be even stevens as teams have odds of 1.86 to get a win in.
Chennai Super Kings finally got across the line in a run-chase after failing in three successive games. The openers Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis took the team home without any hiccups. With Watson in form, CSK look decent. Their bowling still lacks some edge but they will be looking to continue the winning run. The odds of CSK winning are 1.86, same as that of KKR given the recent form of the two teams.

Overall record highly in favour of Royal Challengers Bangalore
Overall, the head to head record between the teams isn’t something that is really stressed upon by a lot of teams going into a game. However, in 20 matches that CSK and KKR have played, CSK have the upper hand having won 13 of those games.
CHOOSE YOUR BET: KKR have some of the best strikers with the bat while CSK have a strong bowling core. The teams have odds of 1.86 to sneak in a win.
This season, KKR are placed fourth with four points. Meanwhile, CSK are sixth with the same number of points as KKR. But they have played a game more and have a worse net run rate.
Keep an eye on…
Andre Russell: The big man from Jamaica hasn’t really come to the party yet for KKR. The good sign is that he is bowling well and has picked up four wickets and has been KKR’s most economical bowler. With the bat, he has just 45 runs in three innings and has a strike-rate of 145.45.
Shane Watson: After four successive failures, Watson finally returned to form with a fine un beaten 83 which took CSK home against KXIP. Last season was similar where he had one big knock before a significant lull. Hence, it’ll be interesting to see how he shapes up and continues this form.
TIP: Kolkata Knight Riders have some big six-hitters and have odds of 1.90 to hit a more sixes than Chennai Super Kings.
