India have lost just five Test matches at home since the beginning of 2010. While the first Test was lost fair and square, it remains a rare botch up and it will take a massive effort from England to pull it off again.
Here are our four quick betting predictions ahead of the 2nd Test – check them out and score big with 10CRIC:
Top India first innings batsman Shubman Gill 5.00
Skipper Virat Kohli singled out Shubman Gill for praise after the first Test, explicitly stating that the 21-year old was India’s best batsman in the Test. Gill looked pretty accomplished and is mature well beyond his years. He has odds of 5.00 to be India’s top batsman in the first innings.
Top India first innings bowler Ravichandran Ashwin 2.60
One guaranteed bet is Ashwin in India. The off-spinner has 26 five-wicket hauls in matches won for India and took one in a loss last Test. Chennai is his home ground too and Ashwin has high odds of succeeding again.
Joe Root to be Man of the Match 9.00
Joe Root has two double tons and a hundred in his last three Tests and played the Indian spinners fairly easily last week. He has pretty good odds of continuing his purple patch with another Man of the Match performance.
Winner most run outs India 4.15
India have been involved in a fair few run outs in their last few Test matches with Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane all running themselves out. They have relatively good odds of doing it again in Chennai.
