Sri Lanka hoping to learn from Australia series
India rolled over West Indies 3-0 in the recent T20I series with healthy contributions across departments. There is very little turnaround time as they come face to face with Sri Lanka for what should be another interesting contest. India have odds of 1.19 to win the first T20I.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have been average in recent times in this format, but have some potentially exciting players up their sleeve. They were humbled 1-4 by Australia in Australia, but in India, the conditions could be more familiar. You can back Sri Lanka at 3.96 to win the first T20I.
India enjoy strong head-to-head record
India have won 14 of the 22 T20Is they have played against Sri Lanka, losing seven in the process with one no result. In the last 8 T20Is, though, Sri Lanka have won three and India have won four.
RECOMMENDED BET: India have odds of 1.19 to win the first T20I and with strong performances in recent times, are favourites to win.
Sri Lanka’s recent T20I performances don’t inspire much confidence, but their players have adapted to the format better with several players grabbing attention in recent times. A few of them also grabbed attractive IPL deals at the auction recently.
Keep an eye on…
Ravi Bishnoi: Ravi Bishnoi was superb for India with the ball in the West Indies series, baffling batters with his wrong ‘un. Sri Lanka haven’t seen a lot of him and it could work to Bishnoi’s advantage.
Charith Asalanka: The left-hander has been outstanding in the middle overs, taking on spinners with ease and finding boundaries at frequent intervals. If Sri Lanka are to take down India’s spin attack, Asalanka will be the key.
