South Africa, on the other hand, were pretty good at the start of the series with the bat but has since fizzled out, especially with the middle-order misfiring. The strategic punt to use Dwaine Pretorius at No.3 worked initially, but has since not quite worked. SA have odds of 2.38 to win the decider.
Focus on India’s second-string batting side
Make no mistake, this is India’s second-string batting line-up largely with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav missing. The backup players have stepped up admirably, especially Ishan Kishan and the last game, on a flat track, will present another opportunity to the batting to show their talent.
Our pick: India have the momentum in their favour after back-to-back wins and will be favourites to win this one. Back India at 1.52!
South Africa won the first two T20Is, but haven’t quite clicked as a unit this series and the batting has been an area of concern despite impressing with the ball. The fielding has also let them down a few times.
Keep an eye on…
David Miller: South Africa are still misusing the form of David Miller by keeping him for way down the order. With the batting faltering, it is time the Proteas trusted Miller to come in earlier and bat through. No better surface than the one at Chinnaswamy to do so.
Shreyas Iyer: Shreyas Iyer hasn’t quite cashed in this series in the absence of Suryakumar Yadav. He has one final chance to make a lasting impression before being in a one-on-one tussle with Suryakumar for the one spot. Can he impress?
TIP: Yuzvendra Chahal knows the Chinnaswamy stadium all too well having plied his trade for years with Royal Challengers Bangalore. Back Yuzvendra Chahal at 4.30 to be India’s top bowler!
