- A better pitch expected in Ahmedabad
- Smith to continue leading Australia

Australia will be without Cummins still, but have a solid batting line-up and their spinners significantly stepped up in Indore to test Indian batters. Australia have odds of 3.45 to win this match.
Australia’s spinners
With Matt Kuhnemann also coming in, Australia have a variety of spinners, each offering something different to the other and the three spinners choked India’s batters in Indore. They’ll hope for more of the same in Ahmedabad, although it remains to be seen if they change the team combination with the pitch slightly green and suiting pacers.
Our pick: India’s dominance at home is such that the loss in Indore could just be a one-off. Back India at 1.52 to win the Test!
India’s batters, barring Cheteshwar Pujara and Rohit Sharma to an extent, have struggled against spin. Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel have stepped up to save the top-order multiple times and they’ll need that to change to put more pressure on Australia.
Keep an eye on…
Nathan Lyon – The lead Aussie spinner has been in prime form on this tour and Rohit Sharma even acknowledged that Lyon was probably the best spinner to tour India.
Virat Kohli – The Indian batting stalwart hasn’t had a great series, falling prey to Todd Murphy thrice. His struggles against spin could be minimised in Ahmedabad, so he could return to form here.
