Afghanistan aim at India’s spin weakness
Afghanistan have been one of the Teams of the tournament so far. They thumped Scotland and Namibia and nearly gave Pakistan a huge scare. With spinners at the forefront on these UAE wickets, Afghanistan have thrived, especially given how they have gone about their batting too. Despite India’s form, Afghanistan, with odds of 4.10, will struggle to beat them.
India are wounded lions at the moment. They lost massively to Pakistan and New Zealand and are on the brink of elimination. A loss against Afghanistan will all but seal the deal and because of this we could see them adopt a more cautious approach and just play to their usual plans rather than chop and change too much. India’s chances to beat Afghanistan stand at 1.22.
Afghanistan’s recent form scary
There have only been two head-to-head T20Is between these two teams with India winning both. That said, recent form is a bigger factor and Afghanistan have used their spinners to boss teams. India, on the other hand, have struggled to score big against spin and that battle could well decide this game.
RECOMMENDED BET: India are still a strong side and have odds of 1.22 to beat Afghanistan.
The toss has been a huge factor in UAE with chasing sides thriving. This game could also be decided by who wins the toss of the coin, especially as spinners find it difficult in the second half.
Keep an eye on…
Rohit Sharma: He was dismissed for a golden duck in the first game and was lucky to not be out for a golden duck next game too with Adam Milne dropping a chance. Rohit will want to shut down critics, especially with the T20I captaincy in sight in the near future.
Rashid-Mujeeb-Nabi: How India handle this spin trio could decide the contest. Mujeeb in the powerplay and Nabi and Rashid through the middle make Afghanistan a tough bowling team to crack. India will want someone to step up big time.
TIP: KL Rahul is arguably India’s best T20 batter and is familiar with scoring runs in these conditions in UAE as he showed in the IPL. Back him at 3.20 to be India’s top batter!
