Royals need more than just magic
Delhi Capitals were ruthless in their win over Sunrisers Hyderabad the other night and the biggest takeaway from it was the performance of the pace attack. Delhi’s core strength has been remarkably good and they are huge favourites to go on and beat Rajasthan Royals, with odds of 1.57 backing their case.
Despite the close win against Punjab Kings the other night, it has to be stated that Rajasthan Royals have been below par. They looked off with the new ball in the absence of Jofra Archer and the new players too time settling in with the bat. They have odds of 2.38 to beat Delhi, but don’t expect a surprise.
Delhi hold recent head-to-head edge
Delhi Capitals were stunned earlier in the season by Rajasthan Royals in the first leg, one of their only two losses in the season, but that’s more because the Delhi side was depleted of resources. Back to full strength, Delhi are a tough nut to crack as they showed against Sunrisers.
RECOMMENDED BET: Delhi have one of the best all-round squads in the season and have odds of 1.57 to beat Rajasthan Royals.
Since 2019, Delhi Capitals have won four and lost just one of their matches against the Royals. Overall, RR hold the edge with a 12-11 record in their favour.
Keep an eye on…
DC’s pace attack: Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Avesh Khan make for a terrific pace bowling trio and Rajasthan have every reason to be scared. The hit-the-deck quicks are high on pace and know exactly how to trouble batters.
RR’s new guns: Evin Lewis showed glimpses of his Caribbean Premier League form as did Liam Livingstone, who has been impressive with his recent form. The new guns will be backed to take down the DC pace attack.
TIP: Sanju Samson is due a big one and the skipper has odds of 4.30 to score a fifty against his former team.
