Delhi Capitals need middle-order to step up
- KKR on four match losing streak
- Rishabh Pant’s batting position crucial
Delhi Capitals come off the back of a heartbreaking loss to Rajasthan Royals last match and are seventh in the points table, despite being slightly better than what those numbers suggest… The Rishabh Pant-led side has odds of 1.85 to win this match.
Kolkata Knight Riders, meanwhile, have lost four on the trot and have struggled to match their early-stage reputation. KKR’s bowling has come apart big time and the batting strength has thinned. They have odds of 1.92 to win this match but it will take some doing.
What happened earlier in the season
KKR’s four-match losing streak this IPL began with a loss against Delhi Capitals… The Shreyas Iyer-led unit hasn’t quite managed to redeem themselves since then. That game, Delhi piled on 215 with the bat with David Warner and Prithvi Shaw making half-centuries. KKR were then bowled out for 171.
Delhi Capitals have a solid opening pair and bowlers in good form, and are favourites to win this one.Recommended Bet by 10CRIC
The contest will likely be decided by how the KKR batters fare against Delhi’s bowling attack. Anything above 180 would be difficult to chase for KKR while if they are batting first, that’s the total they will want to aim for.
Keep an eye on…
Shreyas Iyer: The KKR captain is struggling against pace and bounce and will need to step up to sort KKR’s issues with the bat. Against a Delhi attack that isn’t high on pace, Iyer has his best opportunity.
Rishabh Pant: Delhi Capitals will want to bat Rishabh Pant at No.3 to resolve some of their middle-order issues. The DC captain hasn’t quite had enough time in the middle to play those game-changing knocks.
TIP: Khaleel Ahmed has been in good form. Back Khaleel Ahmed at 3.61 to be the top bowler for DC!
