India’s chance to get a win
Defending champions England have had a less than ideal start to the tournament with three back-to-back losses against Australia, West Indies and South Africa. As they take on the 2017 finalists they beat five years back, England will have a huge task in hand. They simply cannot afford another loss. England’s chances to win this one stand at 1.59
India had a thumping, confidence-boosting win against the West Indies and will bank on their determined, good-looking batting to test England. England, on the other hand, appear to be struggling to seal wins in this tournament. India have odds of 2.17 to win the match, but it won’t come easy.
India have a decent head to head
After the heartbreaking nine run loss to England in the 2017 Women’s World Cup final, India have faced England nine times in ODIs, winning five of them although it’s worth noting that all but one of those four wins came at home.
RECOMMENDED BET: India seems to be performing well. Support them at 2.17 to win this game.
Overall, England still hold the aces with 39 wins in 72 head to head matches with India winning 31. Two matches have ended in no result. The record still isn’t as overwhelming as you’d expect between a side with four world titles and the other with none.
Keep an eye on…
Harmanpreet Kaur: Harmanpreet Kaur loves World Cups. She averages over 50 and strikes at nearly 100 in World Cups, which is quite a jump from her record outside it. Can she turn up against England too and improve India’s chances to make the finals?
Tammy Beaumont: The England opener has carried the batting so far for the defending champions in this tournament, and has two half-centuries and a 40-plus score in the three matches so far. She will be crucial to England’s chances against a spin-heavy Indian attack.
TIP: Nat Sciver has three fifties against India in 11 innings and is also due a big one this tournament. She has odds of 5.12 to be England’s top batter.
