Chennai’s batting against Delhi’s bowling
The tables have well and truly turned and there’s little to choose between three-time title winners, Chennai Super Kings and the usual wooden spoon candidates, Delhi Capitals. Assembling a youthful squad, Delhi have become a team to watch out for and finished third behind CSK last season. Their strong Indian core and new overseas recruits gives them odds that are almost as good as Chennai’s at 1.90.
Chennai, on the other hand, have a method that only they can execute. Under MS Dhoni, they have a strong squad this time but players pulling out and injuries hampered them. In the last game against Rajasthan Royals they were accused of giving up the game after the halfway stage. However, Chennai have a unique way of stepping up in big games and this is as big as they come this season given Delhi’s line-up. CSK have odds of 1.86 in beating DC in the seventh game of the season.

CSK have dominated head to head records against Delhi Capitals
CSK have dominated the battle against Delhi Capitals over the years. They have 15 wins in 21 matches against Delhi with Delhi winning just six of them. While the head to head was one win apiece in 2018, Chennai were ruthless in 2019 with three wins out of three against Delhi.
RECOMMENDED BET: CSK have won each of their last three games against DC and have odds of 1.86 to beat them again.
In the last two seasons, CSK have come back to perform admirably well while DC with their revamped team have tested most teams. On the evidence of the matches this season so far, CSK are perhaps slightly better placed to win on the slow UAE surfaces.
Keep an eye on…
CSK’s middle-order: Forget the top-order, the focus is on CSK’s middle-order and the rather subdued performances from there. If Ambati Rayudu isn’t fit to play this fixture, CSK are in a lot of trouble with the kind of batsmen in the middle-order. How they fare against Delhi’s spin attack could decide the contest.
The Rabada threat: CSK’s batting template is built on scoring most runs in the death overs but Delhi have the phenomenal Kagiso Rabada manning the death overs. The task is tough for CSK if they leave it for too late to accelerate.
