Kolkata have won three on the trot
Kolkata Knight Riders just about scraped through to the finals after an unprecedented collapse against Delhi Capitals in the second qualifier. However, they are still brimming with confidence after three successive wins. Kolkata have odds of 1.89 to beat CSK and win the title in the finals.
Chennai Super Kings are a strong unit in conditions that suit them and Dubai’s surface will be to their liking. CSK’s odds to beat Kolkata Knight Riders stand at 1.88, however the their winning yet another title will be cut out by an in-form KKR side.
Overall and recent record back CSK
Overall, Chennai Super Kings have recorded 17 wins while losing nine matches in head-to-head games against Kolkata Knight Riders. In the 2021 edition, CSK won both their matches against Kolkata.
RECOMMENDED BET: Kolkata Knight Riders have been phenomenal in Sharjah, but not as much outside the venue. As such, CSK are favourites to win the title with odds of 1.88
Kolkata’s spectacular run in UAE was helped by the slow tracks at Sharjah and their spin attack. With the finals in Dubai, KKR will have quite a few tricky choices to make.
Keep an eye on…
Andre Russell: The injured big-hitter is expected to be fit for the finals and if so, he will walk straight back into the side. The only question is who makes way. Shakib Al Hasan has been excellent in the UAE leg, while Eoin Morgan, the only overseas player not quite clicking, is the skipper.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis: The opening pair has been Chennai’s biggest strength through the tournament. They will look up to the two to once again give them a strong opening stand. If KKR manage to get an early wicket, this game could take a very interesting turn.
TIP: Venkatesh Iyer likes to attack the spinners early on and CSK have many of them. Back Iyer at 4.40 to score a fifty in the final game!
