Australia aiming for 4-0
If there’s one place for England to beat Australia in a Test this series, it’s at Hobart in a day-night Test. The fifth Test will be played under lights and England will back their pace attack to make inroads. That said, their batting doesn’t inspire much confidence. Combined with injuries in the camp, England’s odds to win stand at 4.44
Australia would be disappointed to not seal a win Sydney, but will know they are still ages ahead as a Test team. The strong pace attack and the likely swap between Travis Head and Marcus Harris will only further strengthen the batting. Australia have odds of 1.19 to win the Test match.
Australia’s day-night Test record
In nine day-night Tests, Australia have never lost even once. They won earlier in the series too and will back themselves to go 4-0 in the series. With the conditions likely to help Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland and Pat Cummins already breathing fire, Australia’s chances for a win are pretty high.
RECOMMENDED BET: Back Australia at 1.19 to win the series 4-0 in Hobart!
Australia also have a terrific record at Hobart, winning 9 and losing just two of their 13 Test matches here with the other being drawn.
Keep an eye on…
Usman Khawaja: No Australia opener to bat at least seven times at the top since 1960 has a better average than Usman Khawaja. Going back to the top, Khawaja, in good form after twin tons, will back himself to make a hat-trick of centuries.
James Anderson-Stuart Broad: The Anderson-Broad combination will be helped by the conditions – a green pitch and the pink ball. The two are England’s best chance at pushing the Aussies in this mini fortress of theirs.
TIP: Despite the help for bowlers in day-night Tests, Hobart is a flat track and a century, the odds of which stand at 1.71, from any one player isn’t a difficult proposition.
